When earlier this week someone asked me; "who would you root for if Colombia and USA played in a soccer match", I remembered this poem that I wrote few years ago. “I am too Colombian to be American and too American to be Colombian. New Yorker since 2007 and Colombian since 1994. Too “holy” for my college friends and too “rebellious” for people at church. I am rough at the gym, but too sweet at home. You’ll see me cry by myself and smiling in the train. I know a lot, but haven’t experienced enough. I have big dreams. So, please. Don’t put me into a box.
