"We were coming over Sable Pass in Denali National Park. This segment of the trip was going from the park entrance to the end of the road following the single, gravel 92-mile road. . Going over Sable’s Pass, I spotted the first bear of the trip out grazing on the mountainside. This begins to make you recognize the realities of the Alaskan wilderness. . Pedaling into a storm threatens to bring down your core temperature quickly, especially on long descents. Alaska’s elements were consistently changing and the Arc’teryx rain jacket gave us the flexibility and protection needed. The full-zip air vents on the side were zipped all the way down on long climbs, and then closed on the following descent.
