A decade ago I was wrestling with my sexuality during an already daunting time, freshman year of high school. In retrospect, I had nothing to worry about because my family and friends were nothing short of accepting, but I didn't know that at the time. I had the preconceived ideas that anyone that believed in God would hate me and that I would be the only gay person in the school (lol we were small, but not THAT small). Then I found an internet haven called TrevorSpace, a social media website that served as a way for LGBTQ+ youth to meet and support each other. If anyone knows me, they know that I would talk to a wall if it meant I got to socialize, so of course when I got on TS I talked to a lot of people.
