The third round of the Indy NXT by Firestone, feeder series of the NTT Indycar Series, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, saw matteonannini winning his first ever Indy NXT by Firestone race, in his third start ever in the series! 🥳 This is not the first italian victory in the main feeder series of NTT Indycar Series and not the first important result ever. Last time that an italian raced in the old Indy Lights was in 2014 with Vittorio Ghirelli. Back then, Ghirelli scored the last top 5 finish for an italian. He closed in 4th place at St. Petersburg on his debut in the series. In 2003, Marco Cioci raced in the old Infiniti Pro Series twice.
