But today, we want to take a positive note on a much sweeter context that they had during their respective racing careers. Very few people know that they've both had a really brief experience on a Indycar in the early 90s.
Ayrton Senna did a test in December 1992 at Firebird International Raceway, Arizona, on a Penske-Chevrolet Ilmor PC-21. His interest on another competitions was growing up due to uncertain situation of his contract with McLaren. According to Emerson Fittipaldi, who was present that day during the test, Senna impressed enough Roger Penske during that test to build for the 3 time F1 world champion a third car entry for competing in the 1993 Indianapolis 500, but the deal has never been realized after Ron Dennis denied Senna to compete outside of F1.
