Agustin Canapino is maybe the weirdest rookie in modern Indycar. Born in 1990, in Arrecifes, Argentina, he started racing quite late, with a Renault Megane in a local one-make series. He won the championship in 2007 and that same year moved to TC 2000, one of the big four Argentinian championships. In 2008, he joined another of them: Top Race, while competing also in TC Pista to build his way to the Turismo Carretera, the most important Argentinian championship. He got there almost immediately and showed his talent nationwide, he became champion in 2010, the same year that he won Top Race. Between 2011 and 2017 he won all the titles in Top Race, except for 2015. Meanwhile, sticking to his goal to race two championships a year, he also won the Súper TC 2000 in 2016 with the Chevrolet factory team.
