Paul Tracy and Jacques Villeneuve are only 3 years apart and are the only two Canadian drivers to have won a championship in the top American series.
The Scarborough native is also known by "The Thrill From West Hill." He makes his debut at Long Beach in 1991 driving a Dale Coyne Racing car. He is immediately noticed by Roger Penske and is chosen as an official driver for the 1993 season, in which he scores five wins. In 1998 he moves to Team Kool Green, where he remains until the end of 2002 before being hired by Player's Forsythe Team. In 2003 he becomes the first driver in 32 years to win the first 3 races of a season, which added to 3 more wins and 10 podiums lead him to his first and only Champ Car success. He does not go far 2 years later, but a bad crash with Sebastian Bourdais (with controversy) takes away his hopes. From then on, bad luck begins to haunt him, to the point that other incidents cause him decisive injuries to the results he aspires to.
