Last summer, in the middle of a working Saturday I had the pleasure of meeting Corrado Fabi and talking with him for a few minutes. A few moments but intense, it only took a few words for me to understand a lot about him and his approach to the world of racing. He is the younger brother of Teo Fabi, who boasts an influential career between Formula One, CART and IndyCar. Both grow up in Valtellina, in an affluent family that sees his parents running a mine. Teo develops a great passion for sports in general from an early age, until in 1976 he is pushed into motorsport by his own brother. He gets noticed very quickly and in 1982 he is hired by Toleman, except that he does not obtain great results until he joins Benetton in 1986. In 1983 he participates for the first time at the Indy 500 and gets a historic pole position, including a new track record and the title of the first European driver to achieve that result.
