Motorola 300, Gateway Indy 250, Emerson Indy 250 and Bonmarito Automotive Group 500. These are the names used in the last 25 years for the last oval race of the 2022 NTT Indycar Season, at Worldwide Technology Raceway at Gateway. Opened in 1967 as Gateway Motorsports Park and then Gateway International Raceway at Madison, Illinois, it's a short track Speedway of 1.250 miles, with a very low banking, between 9 and 11 degrees. The race saw various changes to the distance. From 1997 to 2000, with CART as a sanctioning body, the race was held 299.72 miles distance. From 2001 to 2003, it was reduced to 250 miles for the IRL championship. When the NTT Indycar Series came back, the race distance has been extended to 500, making it more challenging and the second 500 Mile of the year after the Indianapolis 500.
