The Music City Grand Prix was initially announced in 2020 as a new IndyCar street circuit around a stadium and over a river. Precisely, the finish line lies near the Nissan Stadium, and the Korean Veteran's Memorial Bridge, driven in both directions over Cumberland River, takes most of the track.
Alongside IndyCar and Indy Lights, many championships, like Trans-Am and Stadium Super Trucks, use this circuit on the same weekend.
The event involves music too, given the presence in Nashville of the Big three record labels and the Gibson, a guitar manufacturer. Also, music legend Johnny Cash spent his last years there and the city hosts numerous dedicated museums and parks. Despite having three major racetracks, it looks like Nashville attracts music fans way more than racing ones.
