Second in both qualifying sessions, he wins the first race ahead of Pato O'Ward and leads the second race for large stretches as well. Then that crash caused by a technical problem that exonerates him of any blame, a big shame because he would deserve the back-to-back. PATO O'WARD Sunday's win comes thanks to Newgarden's crash but that does not mean it is not deserved, quite the contrary. Starting seventh, he managed to climb back up to second position, which he held until the crash.
