One of the most important parades in the Nation - like the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena or New York's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade - takes place in the streets of Indianapolis on the eve of the most famous American race.  Up to 200,000 people will gather along the boulevards of the Indiana city for the parade of giant floats, a balloon festival that will be performed above all the 33 pilots who will be envolved in the Indy 500 on Sunday.  This year's theme is “Return to Traditions. Racing Forward” and combines the respect for the Stars and Stripes traditions that take place in the month of May with the celebrations for an event for which people have been waiting for 365 days, towards an even brighter future.  The celebrations begin at 12:00 am local time.
