The 106th running of the Indy 500 will take place on Sunday May 29th. scottdixon9 is starting on pole, after setting the fastest 4-lap average pole speed ever (234.06 mph, which means 376.66 kph). This is his 5th pole position at the Indy 500, ranking second all time for the number of poles. Therefore, it will be an amazing opportunity to win the race for the second time in his life (his first has been in 2008). For this edition, many former Indy 500 winners will occupy a place on the grid, starting from tkanaan (P6) who won in 2013. Two times winner (2017 and 2020) Takuma Sato set the 10th fastest lap, ahead of 2018 winner 12willpower . Another driver who is part of the Indy 500 Hall of Fame is simonpagenaud (2019 edition winner): the French driver is starting P16. Further down, alexanderrossi -who won the race back in 2016 - qualified in P20, whilst heliocastroneves is starting P27.
