The word “codependency” is often met with confusion and vague familiarity. Nonetheless, codependency and its affiliate behaviors can be commonly found among helping professionals in addition to individuals in the general public – particularly among people who self-admittedly: lack boundaries, self-sacrifice, people-please, feel inappropriate guilt, and have lower self-esteem.
