"I walked into the pool to coach my swimmers, and bumped into one of the coaches for team GB. He offered me a spot in a suited 100 freestyle against some of the greatest athletes on earth. dunks_scott was next to me, the SECOND FASTEST 100 freestyler in history (off a relay start) and I was in the middle of the pool. I won’t reveal the winning time but it was under 42 seconds…at 7,000 feet of altitude ⁠ •⁠ People only feel the pressure of being surrounded by athletes like this in Olympic or world championship finals, and little old me got to be in a middle lane against some of the greats. I got whooped by quite the margin, but this was one of those things I’ll never forget.⁠ •⁠ It was one of those magical moments where I felt my community surround me.
