"I carry a certain pride to be the first American, the first woman, and the first in my family to graduate college. Never did I imagine myself pursuing college or let alone finishing it! The last four years have had more bitter than sweet moments, but these experiences helped me grow. I’ve grown to love what I study and to love the community that surrounds me. I show gratitude to those who helped me get to the finish line whether it’s been friends, family, past mentors, supervisors, classmates and professors. Draped over my shoulders I wear these stoles with pride knowing I accomplished so much despite the unprecedented obstacles. Almost all four years I was juggling 2-4 jobs, doing community service when I could, being nerdy and participating clubs I enjoyed, and somehow have learned that time management is the key.
