Dennis Guerrero, co-owner and head trainer of Life Outside the Box fitness, works out and conducts a virtual exercise class from his home, as his members train in their respective homes across New York. Guerrero's gym of six years shut its doors in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with no set reopening date. After lending out equipment to its members and reinventing themselves to the Life Outside the Box brand, workouts have gone virtual and are conducted by a small group of fitness trainers led by Guerrero. Members pay a monthly fee and can take live fitness classes through Zoom. Guerrero, who works out at least thrice a day, seeks to prove that physical gyms are not necessary for people committing to fitness and nutrition. Since the pandemic, more people have reconstructed their garages, spare rooms, backyards and basements into home gyms.
