“I saw the Vagina Monologues for the first time my freshman year at Hofstra. I left feeling empowered. I really hope that people leave this year's show with a greater sense of tolerance and understanding. The cast is a wonderful group of people telling amazing stories. Some of the monologues are serious and difficult to talk about. Others are just outrageous or really silly and cute. It’s definitely not a one-perspective show. A lot of voices went into this production. We’re doing some monologues we’ve never done before. Some people even wrote their own. This show is relevant. It gives women a platform. It’s an opportunity to discuss things that you don’t really get to talk about on a regular basis.
