This week my daughter, my motherhood, and #mayanageneviere were born. It’s no surprise it falls on #worldbreastfeedingweek (a serendipitous series of events that was not intentional). When I started breastfeeding I had so many challenges. I was told my nipple was the wrong shape, my milk wasn’t coming in fast enough, I sought help from a lactation consultant; I used a lactation aid, and my daughter was tongue-tied, and on and on. So many things they did not prepare me for - while I breastfed exclusively for 550 days, I don’t have one photo of that experience 😔 (if you're thinking about it - take the picture) And then there was the discomfort of breastfeeding in public. I was traveling a lot then and was worried about what would be acceptable whether in a restaurant in my own backyard or in another country.
