Today for National Take a Walk in the Park Day, we took a quick trip to one of our favorite places, Fort Pulaski National Monument!
Not only are they dog friendly, they also offer Bark Ranger tags (so be sure to ask the Park Rangers for one once you're inside the Fort!). All dogs must be kept on leash and under control during your visit, and the only spaces off-limits are the Visitor Center and the gift shop.
You can also walk the Lighthouse Overlook Trail for a view of the shoreline and the Cockspur Island Lighthouse. You may come across some old ruins that were part of the Fort's old village if you choose to walk the North Pier Trail.
All in all, it makes for a fun way to spend an afternoon. We can't wait to go back!
