Before Black History Month comes, I want to say this. I always said how I’m tired of seeing the same slave movies. We know that history. Maybe not all of it, but we have a good grasp on the idea. Cinema needs to produce more stories about the rich history of our people. Our black inventors, revolutionary efforts, our kings and queens, African culture. Things like that.
