A rainy afternoon on Hope Pass, Colorado. September 2021.
This past fall, I had the amazing opportunity to go to school in Colorado. Part of my education there included backpacking trips, including one when this photo was taken. I took this photo on the final day of a 16 day backpacking expedition, as we descended Hope Pass. Hope Pass is a famous trail between Hope and Quail Mountains. It is known due in my the fact it is part of the Leadville 100 race, where some of the best athletes in the world gather to run 100 miles in less than 30 hours. What an incredible feat!
In my opinion, this area (Sawatch Range) is one of the most beautiful places in the world, with both day hikes and backpacking options. I am so lucky I had the chance to photograph it. Over time, I will be posting more of my photos from this fall, so if you are a fan of nature, mountains, canyons, or stars please consider following me!
Shot on Nikon D7000. 1/250s, f/8.0, ISO 125, 18mm.
