On this week’s AASQ, we’re going industry wide with a question relating to aluminium alloys.  When a new alloy bike or component is launched it’s usually “stronger, lighter, more durable” etc… but as compared to what? Chances are, different aluminium alloys are better suited to some applications than others; what’s best for a mountain bike frame may not be what’s best for a crankset, handlebar or rim, for example.
