Meet our President of Baseball Operations, Ted Lilly! Without a D1 scholarship offer but a desire to continue playing baseball, Lilly went to Fresno City College for two seasons where the team made it to the state tournament both years. In June 1996, Lilly was selected for the 23rd round of the amateur draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Lilly enjoyed a 13-year career as a player. He is in his sixth year as a special assistant to the General Manager with the Chicago Cubs. His current duties include amateur scouting, involvement in the draft, and assessing internal pitching within the organization. In addition to his commitment to the Chicago Cubs, Lilly also volunteers at Cuesta College as the pitching coach since 2015.
"Over my 25 years in professional baseball, I have been extremely fortunate to have been exposed to a plethora of phenomenal people and brilliant baseball minds, the opportunity to learn never ends. It is an absolute privilege to be part of the Blues Family."
