Last stop on our norwegiancruiseline Bahamas cruise lands us in Nassau, where the homes and scenery are rich with color, but it’s a little trickier getting out of the port.

We had to roll our oyamabicycles through the customs office to get a sticker. It’s free, but required to bring your bike out of the gated port...and to get it back in. It’s a cool souvenir, too!

We rode east, looping through the fish fry & booze shacks under the bridge leading over to the Atlantis resort, then continued on. The road’s a bit narrow, and busy, but drivers all seemed to be polite. It’s a little sketchy riding on the left side of the road, but just triple check both directions before turning.

We ended up at Fort Montagu, a tiny cannon outpost built by the British in 1741 to defend the bay. The “local” was hanging out inside the brig used to hold
