#WomensHistoryMonth, we honor Alana Shepherd, a visionary philanthropist & tireless disability advocate.
In 1975, Alana Shepherd co-founded ShepherdCenter after her son's paralyzing spinal cord injury, creating a world-renowned rehabilitation hospital providing exceptional care for complex conditions.
Alana's dedication extends beyond Shepherd Center. She has advocated for disability rights, making Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (atlairport) highly accessible, bringing the '96 Paralympic Games to Atlanta, and ensuring inclusive Olympic sites.
