In honor of #VeteransDay, we’re sharing posts this week about our veteran-focused work. Today, we highlight the Medal of Honor Character Development Program, a flagship education and outreach focus of the cmohsociety. ** In 2019, we made a $3 million grant to promote the legacy of the Medal and the values it represents – courage, commitment, integrity, sacrifice, citizenship and patriotism – by supporting expansion of the Character Development Program. This Program is free to educators in any setting and helps elementary and secondary students to recognize and exemplify these values. Flexible and inclusive, teachers can incorporate lessons into an existing unit, saving precious teaching minutes, or as a tool to create a positive and healthy school culture. ** The Medal of Honor is the highest military award for valor in combat.
