MARCH IS BRAIN INJURY AWARENESS MONTH! 💚🧠 AND today is my sisters birthday! Happy birthday Tayler!! Not all injuries are visible. (Sound on!) When my older sister was 11, she was hit by a car while riding her bike. She suffered severe injuries to her body, brain, and was in a coma for a month. After her accident, she had to completely start over. Tayler had to relearn how to talk, walk, dress herself, etc. The accident was 19 years ago, and she is STILL working on a lot of these. Her accident was so severe, they told us that if she survived she would be in a vegetative state. Even though she’ll never be the same, she is the best miracle. Tayler is the kindest, funniest person I know. Because of her injury, she stands out a bit. She can be loud, impulsive, her walk is different- and it used to anger me so much as a kid to see people staring, judging, or getting frustrated with her.
