IT’S NOT A LOCKOUT PROBLEM!!!!!! “But Maddy I-“ no. I hear ya but no. Even if you’re a well trained lifter and have been competing for years, perfecting and building your start position proficiency WILL benefit your lockout abilities. Stop neglecting your start because your ego tells you that it is “basic”. Build your ability to maintain your start position before addressing any potential weak muscle/ compensations. You can add all the heavy rack pulls you want, but if your start position isn’t maintained, your rack pull work won’t make the huge difference you intend it to. Take a step back and remember the checklist: - bar to foot - back tightness, core braced - hip hinge and hip position - slack out of bar. Of course, I could make 100 more reels outlining other important start position factors, how to brace, neck position/ where to look, etc- but for a 1 min video, these are some important things to conquer first.
