ITS A TRAP! All about TB deadlifts ⬇️
I’ve used trap bar often in my powerlifting training, but most frequently in a “bridge” or GPP phase. It’s a great preparatory variation for both the deadlift and the squat to build lower body strength.
When implementing the trap bar deadlift, it’s important to avoid overly rounding the back; instead, keep hips underneath you and core engaged.
Why trap bar: again, trap bar deadlift is a great variation used in a bridge phase (like when a lifter is between phases/ is set detrained and beginning a program again). Trap bar deadlift decreases stress to the lower back more than other deadlift variations. Trap bar deadlift can have great carryover for jumping and sprinting. It also can help work grip🤩
There you have it! Give trap bar deadlifts some love.
