If you’ve ever competed in a meet or are lucky enough to train with a great hype team, you’ve likely noticed that having a crowd around you seems to improve lifting performance. It’s no wonder why we see videos of people yelling at each other while maxing out - it works. Unfortunately, not everyone is going to have a crowd with them every time they go for a heavy lift. Doing so could also result in the lifter becoming overly reliant on the external motivation from others. However, having a spotter can also help improve lifting performance by reducing the level of perceived effort, at least in the short term. I’ve also noticed my lifts look/feel better when they’re being recorded. Anyone else notice this? #doitforthegram 📸 mikes_vibes scoposmedia
