Same weight, 1 week difference. Worked up to 90kg (198lbs). Must be the muscle memory, but what exactly does that even mean? We all know that if we stop lifting for a while (more like 3 months, not 3 weeks) you’ll lose size and strength. However, once you begin training consistently again, you’ll regain lost size and strength at a much faster rate than the first time it took you to get there. Unlike other cells in our body, our muscle cells contain hundreds if not thousands of nuclei. This is because muscle cells are much more complex. Building muscle also builds new nuclei. It was initially thought that muscle atrophy occurred in addition to decreased nuclei. However, it seems that the number of nuclei remains the same even after a period of time off, making it much easier and faster to rebuild lost size and strength #musclememory
