On July 3, 1863, Gen. George E. Pickett leads his men through farmland toward the center of the Union line. The Confederates break through, but nearly half of them are killed, wounded or captured. Survivors retreat and both armies return to their held positions around dusk. As the #BattleofGettysburg ended, in the cover of darkness, the Army of Northern Virginia begins to leave the town and withdraws to Virginia in the days following. You can take in the majestic painting of Pickett's Charge at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center when you experience the #Gettysburg Cyclorama.
