Last week, Deputy Tonia Bellgraph was sworn in by Sheriff Ayub as our first Extra-Help Deputy Sheriff Bailiff in our Court Services Division. Welcome Deputy Bellgraph! The Extra-Help Deputy Sheriff Bailiff program is new to VCSO and will provide personnel to help with the day-to-day operations in Court Services. All Extra-Help Deputy Sheriff Bailiffs are sworn deputies that have peace officer powers just like their full-time counterparts. The Extra-Help Deputy Sheriff Bailiffs also go through the same background hiring process and attend the same in-service training as their full-time counterparts. Although they are sworn peace officers and have all of the same training, the Extra-Help Deputy Sheriff Bailiffs are limited to working only in Court Services.
