Over the weekend, deputies in Ojai were responding to a vehicle theft in progress. Deputies located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. This led to the recovery of several stolen catalytic converters, burglar tools, and methamphetamine. The alert citizen who reported the suspicious activity helped us prevent further thefts. An unrelated arrest was also made by our deputies in the Simi Valley area that was also connected to catalytic converter thefts. This is a common occurrence these days, and we need your help to be effective in preventing it. Be vigilant and report any suspicious activity. According to insurance reports, the most commonly targeted vehicles are Honda, Toyota, and Lexus.
