“I’ve been on the Honor Guard for 19 years. With the Honor Guard, the majority of the things we do is attend funerals and services for line-of-duty deaths. We go and represent the Sheriff’s Office at these functions. We also attend memorial services for retirees from the Sheriff’s Office. When a retiree passes away, most families ask if a representative can attend the service and usually members from the Honor Guard will represent the Sheriff’s Office. Retirees have put a lot of their time and life into VCSO.”
