Over the Memorial Day Weekend, our Lockwood Valley Station will be busy with additional deputies in the field for off-highway vehicle (OHV) patrol. The three goals of the OHV patrol are safety, education, and enforcement. Safety is our top priority. If you are planning to head out this weekend, we encourage you to have the proper safety gear for your OHV activity including supplies such as food, water, first aid kits, tools, and spare parts for your OHV equipment. It’s important to have a map, a planned route, and make sure someone knows that route. Let a friend or family member know when you plan to return and encourage them to call 9-1-1 and report when your return is overdue. Have fun but remember to keep safety a priority.
