“When I was in high school, my aunt really helped to mentor me and encouraged me to go into forensic science. She was a retired Connecticut State Police Officer. She was able to bring me in for a tour of the police lab. It was really great to be able to go and tour the lab and see what it was. I had seen one in a fictionalized CSI show, but I really had no idea what it was to be able to walk through a lab that is much like the one that I work in now. It was such an eye-opening experience. They talked about big cases that had been solved and I heard about what they did with their technology. That was really exciting for me. It was such a memorable experience.”
