It is absolutely fantastic the attention women’s sports is getting. We’ve seen significant growth for in person attendance and network visibility. It’s about time. Now what I want to see, and I know what many others would like to see, is all of those celebrating the success of women’s sports also using their voice to encourage more equality in the workspace, whether it’s organizational leadership, staff , coaching or media. I can tell you it’s extremely disappointing to still see, although it has gotten better, the lack of equivalent female representation when there are plenty of women qualified for these positions. A great example is a recent post in Facebook photography group seeking a photographer that specialized in sports. All answers given were referring men despite them all knowing that my focus is sports too.
