One question people always ask us is "How are your seagliders going to avoid boats?"
At REGENT, safety is our top priority, and we've been conducting real-world tests by outfitting our helicopter with radar/AIS systems to allow us to simulate the real-world environments where seagliders will be flying.
We're also integrating camera systems into our full-scale prototype seaglider. This will provide future operators with an extra safety layer to help avoid hazards.
Our pilots and engineers are flying in various conditions over Narragansett Bay and using the data from the tests to help validate what we're seeing in simulations. These tests are improving the avionics that'll help ensure the safety of future
#seaglider passengers and crew, as well as nearby boaters.
It's an incredibly important part of our product development, and it's also a lot of fun.
