I would like to see that all semester long, which would really be my advice, but I understand that a life in college has a number of wonderful distractions to offer. As a student, I probably wasn’t the biggest fan of finals; as a professor, it’s the one time in the semester when I know for a fact that #we are focused on the same thing - when I have students’ attention, that’s the most valuable time for me to engage with my students, rather than separate from them.
