He grew up in Pālolo Valley on Oʻahu and has been fishing, surfing, and paddling since he was old enough to swim. ⁣⁣ ⁣ Today, Matty is the 2021 Bass Nation National Champion and the first person from Hawaiʻi to qualify for the Bassmaster Elite Pro Tour.
