The Polynesian Voyaging Society (PVS) has done the incredible and singular job of helping birth the voyaging canoe, Hōkūleʻa. This firstborn became the elder to an ever-growing ʻohana (family) of voyagers and their respective canoes. Hōkūleʻa, supported by PVS, continues to set its own bar of expectations for Hawaiʻi and for the world at large. Mālama Honua was a worldwide event spearheaded by PVS and brought to life by the beliefs, intentions, and responsibilities that glue this 'ohana together through high and low seas.
