Tomorrow, we kick off the 9th annual OluKai Ho’olaule’a! In addition to honoring the Polynesian tradition of paddling, at the end of the race contestants and the public will also celebrate the Hawaiian cultural practice of pa‘i‘ai (pounding cleaned and steamed taro into a gummy mass) as part of the AmaOluKai Giveback initiative in collaboration with Hui Aloha ʻĀina Momona.
