�This stunning Georgian Colonial began its life in 1905, a custom 9,469-square foot build by architect Addison C. Berry. Its owner was one of Indiana's most famous industrialists, A. Murray Turner. Just as he imbued his Hammond home with a distinctly ambitious spirit, Murray's ambition imbued the town of Hammond, Indiana, a mere meat-packing town at the turn of the 20th century, with a new spirit of innovation and industry. Not only did Murray bring a number of successful factories to his town, but he also formed banks, libraries, railways, gas and electric companies, park systems, and more across Indiana and Illinois that propelled the region into the modern age.
