For over 100 years, Calgary’s Chinatown has become one of our most distinctive cultural communities. It is a unique area, with a long history; one that is important to Calgary and to its residents, visitors and businesses. Since 2020, we have been working with the community on three projects that will support Chinatown’s future as a vibrant, culturally rich place for people to live, visit, work and do business: ✔️ a Cultural Plan ✔️ an Area Redevelopment Plan (ARP) that is culturally informed ✔️ a new name for James Short Park and Parkade Tomorrow’s Chinatown will begin its final approval process beginning on Oct 14 and Calgarians are invited to provide their opinion.
