When I went to my first an Olympic trials, I did not even make the final. Not even top 8 in the U.S. I thought I would never have what it takes to be an Olympian.
Four years later not only did I make my first Olympic team I was the fastest hurdler in the world.
In the Olympic finals I hit a hurdle and it cost me Olympic gold. Did it crush me? Yes and no, see if I had not hit that hurdle I would not have had the grit I needed to try again. Just like when I didn’t make my first Olympic team I used that pain every day to train harder for four years until I did.
Sometimes your greatest setback can be your biggest motivator.
Every major loss I experienced helped give me motivation to fight another day, try a different way. I just kept digging
I am one of the few Americans that is a Summer and Winter Olympian
My success started with a failure.
Don’t let your losses discourage you. A failure is not final if you use it as fuel for motivation
