We're talking ARM PATH Here are a few key points: 1. Is the motion of the path fluid - It doesn't matter if your arm path is long or short; make sure the path is fluid, and there are no hitches or stabbing into flip-up. 2. Make sure you have achieved flip-up around front foot contact–we can argue all day whether it should be at 90° or a minimum of 54°–who cares, just get it up by the time you make that front foot contact. 3. Create scapular retraction of the backside so that you can remain closed with your torso at front foot contact. 4. We want our shoulders to have come back to parallel. As well as our throwing arm to stay in the line of the shoulders moving forward. 5. We want to maximize scapula positioning by achieving full upward rotation to afford maximum layback and allowing the elbow to pull slightly forward of the torso to get in the line of the scap. 6.
