Today we’re turning a #SpotlightOn the Huntington-USC Institute on California and the West! The institute is a hub for scholarly investigation of the history and culture of California and the American West. Through sponsorship of innovative scholarship and research, ICW draws on the resources of the University of Southern California and The Huntington Library to build an innovative and unique collaboration between a research university and a research library. ICW’s work ranges from intensive training of doctoral students to outreach programs aimed at the high school students of greater Los Angeles. Innovative conferences, workshops, lecture series and other programs are designed to teach and learn from a growing public audience hungry for historical perspectives on the events and challenges of the contemporary American West.
