Gather ’round, it’s story time! 📚
Junior Nisey Berry, who is studying psychology, reads from the book “Giraffes Can’t Dance” by Giles Andreae and illustrated by Guy Parker-Rees, in which Gerald the giraffe finds his footing with a little encouragement.
Nisey participates in ReadersPLUS through USC Dornsife’s Joint Educational Project, where she is part of a trained network of USC students who tutor K-12 students at local schools in South Los Angeles in reading and math.
She says, “ReadersPLUS is important to me because while I’m challenging the kids, they challenge me too! The work we do is a rewarding and collaborative effort. I love this job and couldn’t recommend it more to others because no two days are the same!”
We encourage you to share this story time with a child who might enjoy a good read! You can also learn more about USC ReadersPLUS at the 🔗 in our bio.
